US Ambassador calls on Speaker Mahara

US Ambassador to Nepal, Alaina B Teplitz, called on Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara at latter's office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Wednesday. The meeting discussed issues of bilateral friendship, mutual cooperation, collaboration and parliamentary friendship association. 
On the occassion Mahara noted the old and cordial relations between Nepal and US and expressed his hope that mutual assistance and collaboration would continue in the days to come as well, according to Speaker's Advisor Dilli Malla. 
"Nepal is exercising the federal governance system after the completion of the three-level elections following the promulgation of the constitution through the Constituent Assembly," he told the US Ambassador, adding that now Nepal had attached main priority to the formulation of news laws and acts as demanded by the constitution. 
He informed the Ambassador that the second session of the Federal Parliament had recently commenced in Nepal and the session carried a specific meaning as it had to undertake many task including the presentation of policy and progress and budget for the upcoming fiscal year and formulation of many more laws, rules and regulations. He urged continuity of economic assistances provided by the USAID. 
On the occasion, American ambassador Teplitz expressed hope that new laws of Nepal would be inclusive and democratic as Nepal is committed to the rule of law and democracy. 
She said the US government prioritises economic improvement of Nepal, human trafficking, correction in Judiciary and agriculture and energy.
