Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane
made his Twenty20 International debut a historic one representing a
star-studded World XI team against the West Indies at the Lord’s in
London on Thursday.
Sandeep, who recently caught attention of cricket world with an impressive performance in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Daredevils, sneaked into the playing XI of the World XI side in a Twenty20 International charity match.
Sandeep played under former Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi and got to bowl just one over conceding 12 runs. World XI went on to lose the match by 72 runs. Sandeep had played the last three games for Daredevils in the IPL picking up wickets in the 12 collective overs he bowled throughout and conceded 82 runs at an economy of 6.83. (PR)
